REDUCING THE ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT, KEEPING THE PLANET CLEAN

Biosolids covers each of our partners’ need for the certified management of residues, as is now required by the environmental legislation, which obliges residue producers to dispose of them in a licensed unit (Law 4042/2012).

Our company follows the steps below:

1It manages in a lawful manner the residues of Municipalities, Local Government Organisations and food processing Industries.

2It transports the residues to its certified and licensed plant, collaborating with licensed transporters (holders of a Permit for Collection and Transportation of Non-Hazardous Waste) to ensure the lawful and proper transport of the waste to the composting plant.

3It issues the necessary confirmation of receipt of the residues to be processed, identifying and declaring them to the Electronic Waste Register! The Electronic Waste Register (EWR) is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Environment and Energy.

The following companies and bodies must be registered in the EWR:

  • All companies whose facilities produce waste or carry out waste treatment operations, if they fall within the scope of Chapter A of Law 4014/2011 (A 209).
  • All companies, including Local Government Organisations, that collect or transport waste and are obliged to hold, for this purpose, a waste collection and transport permit, in accordance with Article 36(4) of Law 4042/2012 (A 24).
  • All first-degree Local Government Organizations for the municipal waste they produce and handle.
Registration in the EWR is mandatory for the aforementioned companies and bodies and is done electronically at the address https://wrm.ypeka.gr/.
